Einstein’s relativity: so mysterious?

Einstein’s theory of relativity consists of special relativity, which he founded in 1905 to broaden the field of Galilean relativity dating back to the 17th century, and general relativity, which he founded in 1915 as a theory of gravitation surpassing that, bicentennial, of Newton.
Einstein’s relativity has the reputation of being inaccessible to ordinary mortals. In reality, if his mathematical apparatus is indeed very technical, especially in the case of general relativity, the very general physical principles underlying it are on the other hand quite understandable by non-specialists.
By placing the foundation of the theory of relativity in its historical context, it is to this proposal that we invite you: make the relativity of Einstein a little less mysterious to everyone, without seeking to become a specialist!
