What is a belfry? It is an old defensive wooden tower. In Armentières, it has been destroyed many times and always rebuilt, in wood then in brick. Its last architect is Louis-Marie Cordonnier. He managed to make him look good after the destructions of 1914-1918. To admire a breathtaking panorama, just follow the guide and climb about 200 steps.
