Halloween approaching, what would you say to knowing a little more about the place of the dead in History?
From America to Asia, from Europe to Africa, we invite children over 7 years old to explore the funeral traditions of each continent through many creative activities.
On the program: realization of paper flower offerings for the Thai festival of Loy Krathong, creation of lanterns in turnips to celebrate the Irish festival of Samhain and representation of a sacred cow on a fabric evoking the Nepalese festival of Gaï Jatra. And also: creation of African clay death masks and pre-Columbian plaster statuettes, and creation of a temporary rangoli in chalk paint to evoke the Indian festival of Divali.
The last afternoon will be devoted to Mexico: the children will make clay calavera, metal ex-votos, and make and taste the "death’s bread", a brioche powdered with sugar and scented with orange blossom that is exclusively prepared on the Day of the Dead.
Upon registration at 03 20 47 21 99.
Plan the lunch picnic (possibility to warm a dish on site)
