The profusion of nature and its symbolism fascinate Pre-Raphaelite artists who make it one of their favorite subjects. In their works, budding roses, green meadows and lush trees grow discreetly around thoughtful or dreamy silhouettes. Worn as a crown to adorn the hair during ceremonies in ancient times, the plant world has integrated clothing over the centuries and technological developments. Whatever his painting, botanical or fanciful, it is finely linked to the history of fabric.
For the spring season and in response to the exhibition Préraphaélisme—Itinéraires féminins, the first floor of the basin hatches a mosaic of textile gardens. Nature grows as well on the canvas of a painting as on the weave of a fabric!
