Exhibition Panorama 27 - Simultaneity

  • Exposition

PANORAMA 27 brings together films and installations, image, sound and performance, crossing historical analog technologies as well as virtual or digital simulations where documentary observations and images generated by algorithms are mixed.
What this new generation of authors shows us is an overflowing imagination that, far from claiming a slowdown in the face of this accelerationist shock, is distinguished by the sensitive consideration of resources and potentialities in terms of registers of experiences and narratives that technologies offer in their diversity. We see them mobilizing both analog and decelerative means as virtual or algorithmic spaces, ranging from drawing to vector simulation. Their proposals do not respond in a frontal way to the competition of automated «content» generators and their sterile data-images, but by an intensification of the experience: a dive into synesthesia, into simultaneous perception.
Arranged thematically, the works take us into immersive spaces, sensitive atmospheres, narratives where sensory perception expands. They combine simultaneously experiences and spiritual translations, temporalities mixing past and present, self-awareness and otherness, the simplest gestures and everyday feelings. From the individual body to its forms of collective organization, often undisciplined, the works open up a broader mapping of lived experience. They immerse us in a plurality of realities and sensitive registers, evoking both ecosystems – organic or inorganic, artificial or material – as well as experiences of intimacy and memory. History, its accepted narratives and those that call for resurgence, continues to weigh in, influencing the policies that determine daily life.
Thus, reality helps to capture fiction, where what is observed becomes a narrative simultaneously, by splitting the virtual through a sensory relationship extended in a critical sense.
