New world by the Sirius Quartet proposed by Quatuor en liberté
Chamber music concert, 30th season "Great classics"
New World! Dvorak, then director of the New York conservatory, was inspired by local and free music to write his famous American quartet. Shostakovich lived in fear of being arrested. The 3 repeated strokes of the 4th movement of his 8th quartet bear the mark. For this concert we welcome the faithful Sirius Quartet.
