The Abolition of Privileges, staged by Hugues Duchêne

  • Théâtre

It is a state in chronic deficit, where the richest avoid taxes. A regime that is out of breath. A people at the end of their rope, who demand justice and see nothing coming. A rich but blocked country, prey to the whims of a disturbed climate. Such is France in the summer of 1789. Until in one night, at Versailles, everything changes. It’s the Night of August 4th.
A few months after the end of the saga I’m leaving but the State remains, Hugues Duchêne launches into the adaptation of the historical novel
by Bertrand Guillot: The abolition of privileges.
