Political fable inspired by the application of the McCarren Act, an emergency law passed in 1970 in favor of a worsening conflict in North Vietnam. In southern California, a group of convicts were led, against the promise of their release, to walk across the desert, without water or food, to reach the American flag without being captured by special forces launched in pursuit of them.
