Feast of the Ponds

Identification of the fauna and flora of wetlands, workshop for making small aquatic animals, puppet show: ponds are at the heart of this afternoon rich in discoveries.
In the city as in the countryside, of natural or anthropogenic origin, ponds are useful! Ponds are the reservoirs of life for many species and are closely linked to humans. Most of them have been dug and maintained to meet water needs related to various uses... The oldest traces of ponds date from the Neolithic! With the development of pressurised drinking water networks, the usefulness of ponds has become less noticeable. Between 1950 and 2000 in France, between 30 and 40% of the ponds disappeared! Yet, the ponds are real natural infrastructures useful to man and true reservoir of life!
Take advantage of this Puddles Festival to learn more about their roles in our environment and discover its rich ecosystems.
From 10:00 a.m., go for a “Zoom on the Odonates” and observe the comings and goings of these impressive insects with bright colors. With a little practice, it will be easy to identify them!
From 2:00 pm, go to meet the living and let yourself be guided by nature animators for discover the fauna and flora of wetlands and understand the protection issues.
With Océane Azeau, author-illustrator, the youngest can try their hand at create their own aquatic insect from recycled objects and natural elements.
With Theatre in Matthî, marvel at a puppet show traditional in castelet: the prince has finally found love and must go to the castle of his beautiful princess. This is without counting on his meeting with the witch. The prince will be trapped in a bewitched forest and transformed into a frog man. Will he be able to regain his appearance and his beloved?
