Fata Morgana
Film by Werner Herzog (1971)
1h16
With Wolfgang Bächler, Manfred Eigendorf, Lotte Eisner, Günther W. Welpert
Fata Morgana was originally intended to be an African science fiction film shot in the Algerian Sahara. On arrival there is always Africa and Algeria, but it is no longer fiction or documentary. Fata Morgana is a kind of experimental epic poem in three parts: Creation, Paradise, and The Golden Age. A quasi-animistic film that aims at trance and ecstasy through a shamanic collage of images, texts and music. Werner Herzog defined it as the first awakening and the first astonishment. An extraordinary experience, poetic and powerful but also deeply personal.
Carte Blanche
Carte blanche to Diane Sara Bouzgarrou and Thomas Jenkoe, filmmakers of Acid.
Presentation of their next film, «La ville qui avalait les âmes» (co-produced by Pictanovo) and projection of Werner Herzog’s Fata Morgana (1971, 1h19) followed by an exchange with the public. Session in the framework of the professional day of regional creation.
