Creaviva

  • Danse

Rafaela Carrasco explores with Creaviva what makes flamenco’s beating heart: a lively, almost electric relationship between gesture and sound. Conceived as an ode to feminine creation, the piece draws on the imagination of the Muses, ancient figures of inspiration. Through a succession of paintings, she oscillates between momentum and restraint. The flamenco vocabulary opens up to other resonances, without ever losing its density. In a refined setting, surrounded by attentive musicians, the artist composes live. Vocals, guitars and percussions prolong or revive the movement. What is at stake here is less proof than evidence. A creation is being born, incandescent.
