🎬 Film-debate — Fuori (Mario Martone)
📅 Tuesday, March 24 6:30 PM–9:30 PM
📍 As part of the World Film Festival
Screening followed by an exchange with Melinda Palombi (teacher of Italian literature and cinema, University of Lille/ CECILLE).
With Fuori, Mario Martone offers a vibrant, free and deeply human film, inspired by the life and writings of Goliarda Sapienza, the great voice of Italian literature. In the Rome of the 1980s, while she has been working for years on L'Art de la joie, Sapienza finds her manuscript rejected. A gesture of desperation leads her to prison, where she meets other women—thieves, prostitutes, activists — and, against all odds, a new energy. After his release, these ties continue 'outside' (fuori) and give him back the desire to write and live.
Far from a classic biography, Martone films a summer of drifting and friendship, as close as possible to the emotions of his character, with an ample and incarnated staging — carried by Valeria Golino, Matilda De Angelis and Elodie.
To (re)discover Sapienza’s work, Martone’s choices and the film’s themes (writing, freedom, prison, sorority).
Students from the University of Lille upon presentation of your student card. and places are offered to you (funded by the CVEC) until stock is exhausted then paid entry.
