The ensemble Camerata de Flandre Hauts de France will give a concert on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 3 PM in the Saint-Vaast church of Capinghem (opening doors at 2:30 PM) on the theme "Carmen, Musical Journey".
Presentation of the Set
Founded in 2019 by Benjamin Boursier, the Camerata de Flandre Hauts de France is a young and dynamic string ensemble that enriches the musical life of greater Lille through varied projects and high quality. Made up of twelve talented artists living in the region, the ensemble stands out for its commitment, particularly to refugee artists, which it supports and accompanies throughout their journey.
Carmen, musical journey
La Camerata de Flandre invites the public on a musical journey under the sign of elegance and stylistic diversity. The programme opens with L'Air sur la corde de sol by Johann Sebastian Bach, an emblematic piece of purity and serenity that perfectly illustrates the contrapuntal art and sensitivity of the baroque master. The popular Spanish Suite by Manuel de Falla and the Spanish Dance by Myroslav Skoryk then introduce Mediterranean colours, vibrant with rhythms and passion. In a more intimate register, the Romance by Camille Saint-Saëns deploys all the grace and fluidity of instrumental singing.
After the intermission, the Valse triste by Franz von Vecsey brings a touch of refined melancholy, to which the Intermezzo by Enrique Granados responds with sweetness and lyricism. Spain returns to the forefront with the fiery Suite de Carmen by Georges Bizet, where dramatic intensity and musical sensuality mingle. Finally, the brilliant Navarra by Pablo de Sarasate concludes the concert in a burst of virtuosity and communicative energy.
This programme highlights the extent of the chamber repertoire, between intimacy, lyricism and orchestral brilliance, and illustrates the ability of the Camerata de Flandre to combine stylistic refinement and vivacity of interpretation.
