Follow in the footsteps of Roelant Savery and enter a world that burns and blooms.
On the occasion of the 450th anniversary of Roelant Savery (1576-1639), more than twenty masterpieces by the painter from Courtrai engage with contemporary art. Imaginary landscapes, fantastic creatures, endangered species, exhaustion of nature: age-old fascinations that are surprisingly current. Artists have not stopped imagining, questioning and reinventing the natural world. The exhibition tells a timeless story, oscillating between beauty and decline, with a cautious hope of renewal.
