Getting around

The Lille Metropole area has a substantial network of TGV, Eurostar and Thalys trains for access to European capitals, from Lille Europe and Lille Flandres Railway Stations, located in the heart of the city of Lille. And for your urban travel, Transpole provides you with 2 métro lines, a bus network, 2 tramway lines and the V'lille service.


Getting around the city

By car

To promote a rational use of car, the European Metropolis of Lille encourage the alternative means of transport as pass pass covoiturage, Citiz, ... With the creation of 11 parking relais P+R through the Lille Metropole area and next to subway, tramway or bus station, the MEL facilitates access to city center and all the destination in Lille Metropole. 

By bike

V’Lille, the bicycle rental service, has been available since September 2011 throughout the Lille Metropole area.

2 possibilities: the self-service bike for your short travels from one stop to the other or the long-term bicycle rental service for you, at home and whenever you want.

Public transport

Transpole provides the following transport services :

  • 2 métro lines,
  • 2 tramway lines,
  • more than 40 urban bus lines,
  • 6 high frequency bus lines, (4 urban lianes, 2 inter-urban lianes),
  • “Citadine” bus lines aimed at connecting neighbourhoods and living areas within the municipality,
  • night buses from 9:30 pm until 00:30.

Railway links

Air links

Lille–Lesquin Airport is located 15 minutes away from the Lille city centre, the business district and both railway stations.

A shuttle runs between the airport and the city centre:

  • Travelling time: approximately 20 min
  • One-way: 7€
  • Way / Return: 9€

The airport serves nearly 50 French and international destinations.
